Space is a bit sparse in our house so we build these shelves, super cheepo out of black formwork boards and to give
them a nice chunky appearance, drilled thick borders around.
Shelves are great in small spaces, you get the open feeling by seeing walls behind, but don’t need to open doors to reach your stuff, you get to see what you have and there is a need to keep things in order you can’t just pile things up behind closed doors, but are kind of forced to keep things arranged.
We built them first for our Dining room/study to keep craft supplies and books in check, but got addicted and started to build them all around the house.
